Revelation 6:17 For the great day of his wrath (vengeance, retribution, indignation) has come, and who is able to stand before it?
Stand -c) abide, appoint, continue, establish
Abide -d) to stand fast, remain, to await, to endure, to live up to a promise.
Appoint -d) to ordain; set.
Continue -d) to last, endure, to keep on, persist.
Establish -d) to make stable, settle, ordain.
Here is a warning given to the earth that God’s vengeance on mankind because of his sin has finally come. The question given is just who will make it through when all around things are shaking and falling apart.
The word for stand in the Greek is also the word for star. Those who have been ordained to continue to abide in the Presence of the Lord are shining as lights in the darkness that has covered the earth. Is. 60:2
Daniel 12:3 And the teachers and those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament; and those who turn many to righteousness shall give forth light like the stars forever and ever. Amp.
It is like the Lord is allowing all the stars in the sky to melt away as He has His chosen who are near to Him to take their place as lights forever and ever.
Let us allow the Holy Spirit to fill us with His power so we will be able to stand in that great day and be His shining stars!
